About Wheel of Decisions

Wheel of Decisions is a free, beautiful spinning wheel for the small (and sometimes big) decisions of everyday life — what to eat, what to watch, who does the dishes, which student answers next, where to go on holiday.

We built it because the existing wheel sites felt like spreadsheets with a circle bolted on. Wheels should feel a bit like a tiny game show: a moment of suspense, a little drama, then an answer you can actually act on. Our wheel has bulbs that pulse, a hostess who reacts, and a pointer that flaps when it ticks past every peg.

On top of the classic build-your-own wheel, you can generate a wheel with AI in one sentence ("date night ideas under $20"), browse 100+ pre-built wheels for the common stuff, save your favourites, and challenge friends to a shared spin.

Who it's for

  • Couples deciding dinner, date night, or whose turn it is.
  • Teachers picking the next student, group, or task.
  • Friends arguing over what to watch or where to eat.
  • Parents settling kid disputes without rock-paper-scissors.
  • Streamers and content creators running audience polls live.
  • Anyone who'd rather laugh at fate than overthink.

Free, forever

The wheel is free to use, no account required. Creating an account unlocks saved wheels, your spin history, and the ability to host challenges. We run unobtrusive display ads to keep the lights on — never anything that gets in the way of a spin.

How we built it

Wheel of Decisions is built and maintained by a small, independent team. The wheel rendering uses HTML canvas with a custom physics-inspired easing curve so the deceleration feels like a real spinning wheel rather than a linear animation. The randomness uses your browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API — the same cryptographically secure generator used for security tokens — so every option has a genuinely equal chance on every spin.

The pre-built wheels in our library are curated by hand, not scraped. Every preset is reviewed for quality, with use-case notes and FAQs added so the page is actually useful before you spin. The AI generator runs on Google's Gemini family of models through a privacy-respecting gateway — your prompts aren't stored or used for training.

Editorial standards

Every blog post and wheel guide on this site is written by a human, reviewed before publishing, and updated when the information changes. We don't accept paid placements in posts or wheel categories. If we ever recommend a third-party tool (we rarely do), it's because we use it ourselves, with no affiliate relationship.

Privacy first

We don't sell your data. The full details — including how we handle ads and cookies — are in our privacy policy, written in plain English and short enough to actually read.
